Trust you all received a spe- cial Valentine for the big day, and you enjoyed it so very much! Nestleton United 0 Church n Sunday, Feb. 11, sixth Sunday after Cawker Epiphany, saw a fair attendance with Katie Mairs, organist. Rev. David Shearman conducted the service opening with approach followed by Call to Worship. His sermon theme, "Choices for Life", a mea- ningful message. The faithful Nestleton trio - Regenia, Shirley and Katie sang beautifully, "My Shepherd is the Living Lord" with Carol Mairs at the piano. Hymn - "Be Thou my Vision" was sung. Arnold and Jean Williams gathered the offering and service closed with Prayers of the People of God - Hymn "For those with a vision" and singing - "Go Now in Peace". A very fine service! Friends - by Joseph Parry Make new friends, but keep the old; Those are silver, these are gold. New-made friendships like new wine, age will mellow and refine. Friendships that have PE -- Nestleton stood the test - time and change are surely best. The brow may wrinkle - hair grow gray; Friendship never knows decay; For mid-old friends, tried and true, Once more we - our youth renew. But old friends, alas - may die; New friends must their place supply. Cherish friendship in your breast - new is good, but old is best; Make new friends, but keep the old - those are silver - these are gold! Family News Friend Ann Levinson is living in her own home and would love to hear from friends. Address: 90 Fisherville Road, Willowdale, Ontario, M2R 3J9. Deepest sympathy goes out to Kay Walker and fam- ily, in the great loss of husband, father, grandfather Robert Walker of Prince Albert. A fine gentleman who will be sadly missed. Pleased to have son Arthur of Sudbury during the week - an overnight guest! Sorry he couldn't stay long- er, but we did step out for a fish and chip dinner in Port Perry while he was here for a change of pace. Alan and Eleanor Cawker of Oshawa were luncheon guests with Mabel Cawker at the farm on Sunday - a most enjoyable occasion. I must say, nothing beats good company on a wintry day and it has been blus- tery and wintry in this neck of the woods. Let us "Think Spring" and perhaps it will soon appear! Happy birthday to Kyle Walker of Scugog Point who turned 13 on Feb. 10. The family helped him celebrate with a supper and movie in Oshawa. Very best wishes Kyle! You are really growing up now! Nestleton Presbyterian Church The congregation of Nestleton Presbyterian Church met at 11 a.m. with Rev. Wm. Fairley in the pulpit. The ushers were Graham Ham and Oliver Rohrer. The organist was Joyce Taylor, and the Sunday School class was taught by Dorothy Lee. Responsive Psalm was #101 and Scripture readings were from Zachariah 4; and St. Matthew 13. Rev. Fairley spoke of the forces of will which we experience in our lives, which can undermineour trust. We should continue to live in faith, for the time of har- vest will come. The Annual Congregational meeting will be held next Sunday, Feb. 18 following the Church service, and the usual lunch. Everyone is invited to attend. Green Team Talk Series There may be local farmers interested in attending the third talk in the Scugog Green Team talk series.
