22- PORT PERRY STAR - Tuesday, March 12, 1996 "Scugog's Community Newspaper of Choice" ~ SProrTs The Port Perry Bantam #1 team, sponsored by Country Style Donuts in Manchester, have unfor- tunately had to hang up their skates for this sea- son. Their playoff run came to an early end Feb. 21 at the Children's Arena in Oshawa. Up against a very hot goalie in this round, the team just could not break the wall he put up as Oshawa took the se- ries 3-1. In game three back on Feb. in Port Perry, the boys played a spirited game but ended up on the short end of a 7-6 game. Scoring the goals for Port were Dillan Weber with two and singles going to Troy Campbell, Adam Hobbs, Danny Lyons and Jon Froats. Assists in the game went to Scott Jeffrey with four Dillan Weber with two, and singles go- ing to Derek Tindall, Ian Parliament, Nick Pelyk, Jon Froats and Troy Campbell. Ryan Fraser was between the pipes for Port in this game. Game four was a heart- breaker as the Oshawa goalie completely stymied the Port offence.
