Some very interest- ing boxes were on display to be judged. To name a few - a chuckwagon, submarine, pumpkin, Easter baskets, a black cat, a white church with green roof and steeple, aptly named St. Glutton's Presbyterian. The prize win- ners were the Chuckwagon and two Easter baskets all decked out with beautiful spring flowers. Everyone en- joyed the contents of the box- es/baskets they bid on. The baby gallery was fun as eve- ryone guessed who the differ- ent pictures were. To con- clude the evening, several people stayed and enjoyed board games. Thanks Barba- ra for organizing such a good evening. For those who attended the Brooklin Horticultural meeting on Wednesday eve- ning, enjoyed hearing the speaker Dan Shisko whose subject was, "The Pleasures and Perils of Organic Market Gardening," and also shar- ing with us a video where Ag- grand organic products are used in growing organic veg- Gospel concert at Burns - total number of etables. During the evening, a service certificate was pre- sented to Mary Housego for her many years of dedicated work in the Society. This year marks the 75th Anni- versary of the Brooklin Hor- ticulture Society and many exciting things are planned throughout the year. Next month, April 24, there will be past presidents recognition. So plan to be on hand as we pay special tribute to all these fine people who have contributed so much in the success of the society. Very much enjoyed! Service closed with hymn, "All Glory, Loud and Honor". Doxology, Prayer and "Go Now in Peace". Easter Service next Sunday at 11:15 a.m. at Nestleton Unit- ed Church. Nestleton Presbyterian Church As a prelude to the regular Service, a song, "As We Are Gathered" by Kirsten and Da- nielle welcomed the good atten- dance at the Nestleton Presby- terian Church. They were accompanied by Joyce Taylor on the piano. The Palm Day (or Passion Day) service was led by Rev. Wm. Fairley with Joyce Taylor as organist. Ushers were Rus- sell Brown and Oliver Rohrer. Sunday School class was taught by Dorothy Lee. Beautiful East- er lilis decorated the chancel. Responsive Psalm reading was #22 and Scripture Readings were from Isaiah53: and St. Luke 23. In the sermon, Rev. Fairley spoke of the events in Holy Week, leading up to Easter and the resurrection. Seagrave Church News The last purple Lenten can- dle was extinguished at the Palm Sunday service by Elean- or Sturman and her two grand- daughters Carolynne and Sa- rah Coleman. The choir sang, "Long, Long Ago". During the children's story on Palm Sunday, Reverend Shep- herd explained how the crowd came to see Jesus in Jerusalem waving palm branches and shouting, "Hosanna". He lik- ened it to the crowd that gath- ered at the Eaton Centre in To- ronto recently to meet "Mr. Bean", a television comedy star. His sermon was, "Whois He?" Good Friday service will be at Pinedale Church at 8 p.m. Next Sunday, the Easter Church service will be at the regular time 10 a.m. for all ages.
