22- PORT PERRY STAR - Tuesday, April 9, 1996 "Scugog's Community Newspaper of Choice" -- > PORT PERRY STAR RURAL RoorTs Looking forward to spring in Nestleton VRS Nestleton We are moving towards sum- mer - days are longer, nights shorter; miracles are already happening in garden and field and wood! Heard the birds sing- ing and chattering and whis- tling? Seen the nest building that's going on so busily. Spot- ted buds swelling - grass grow- ing - flowers opening? Heard music in swaying tree tops? Felt the wonder of a new world! ry Never live in hope, or expecta- tion, while your arms are fold- ed. God helps those who help themselves. Providence smiles on those who put their shoul- ders to the wheel, that propels to wealth and happiness. Perhaps you are rushed off your feet. Probably you have im- portant jobs to see to. Maybe you are tied at home. But if you can take a walk in a country lane, or spend a few minutes in a garden or park or wander by a river'sbrim - do so, for the trage- dy of spring - time is this - that it arrives imperceptibly and van- ishes before we have a chance to enjoyit! Looking for Spring What do you look for while searching for spring? A small budding crocus, a bird on the wing? Or maybe a blue sky - so wondrous and gay? A bit of green grass, as you travel your way. What do you look for when April is due? The last winter snowflake before March is through? A kite overhead for a youngster's delight! Or maybe the joy of a bright star-filled night. Spring brings us wonders like none we have known. A Greenbank Shirley Happy Easter to everyone! I hope celebrations with fam- ily and friends were enjoya- ble. Twenty-seven people walked to Cemetery Hill Sunday morning at 6:30 a.m. Although we didn't see the had ainspiring Service.
