Last Saturday night April 6 friends and rela- tives gathered at Caesar- ea Hall to pay special trib- ute to Shirley Gettins on the occasion of her 60th birthday. Congratulations Shirley and may you re- joice in having many more. We are all saddened this week to hear of the death of Penny Page. I met Pen- ny for the first time about four years back when she was in our home as a mem- ber of the Park Associa- tion helping with a bottle drive. I found her very friendly and most helpful working wigh the Cart- wright Youth Council sort- ing all these different brands of bottles. With sadness I say we have lost one who has contributed to our community. My sin- cere condolences to the family. We also lost another great woman this week whom was well-known in our village. Dorothy Haines was in her 81st year and leaves a great family heritage. Our sin- cere condolences to hus- band Reg and the family. Caesarea by Albert Putsey Tired of winter? So am I, but we shouldn't wish for too early a warm spring. During the past five years we have had two years of a warm, early April and everything began to bud and blossom and then came that killer frost. So let's all take the season as it comes with joy that we have left winter behind. I am holding on Wednesday, April 17 a meeting dealing with the Greater Toronto Region starting sharp at 7:30 p.m. and I guarantee you'll be on your way home by 9:30 p.m. I believe this subject goes much further than a yes or no vote. I have films plus a short talk then you can decide. To reserve one of the 50 seats for this ses- sion call 986-0181. It's to be held at 20 Putsey Drive, Caesarea. A no smoking meeting. Joke ofthe Week The husband and wife were both avid golfers and one night they sat discuss- ing the future. The wife asked, "Darling, if any- thing happened to me would you marry again?" 'I suppose so," he re- plied. "Would you live in this house and would she drive my car?" "I suppose so," he re- plied, "theyre both paid for." "Would she use my golf equipment?" she asked. "Heck no." He blurted out. "She's left-handed." Saying of the Week on Honesty Rather fail with honor than succeed by fraud. By Sophocles.
