Potluck was the order of the day and be- sides being good curlers Blackstock people are great cooks. Four trips through the buffet fol- lowed by two desserts was not unusual. Jodie Duff gave the fi- nancial report and though losses were posted it was a definite improvement over previous years. More members are needed to offset 10 per cent ice cost increases. The Monday night late ice times need to be filled by six more teams and the mixed has room for two more teams. Carol Gray, the outgo- ing president discussed J. PETE the year's events includ- ing the dance, the Fletcher bonspiel, the Snowflake Bonspiel and the Golden Slider. : A vote was held and it was decided that the pro- ceeds of the Golden Slider would no longer be auto- matically allocated to a lo- cal youth project but in- tead will first of all be spent within the Black- MEN'S LEAGUE CHAMPS - Winners of the Men's League at the Blackstoc! Curling Club received the Merlin Suggitt Trophy at the club's annual banquet Saturday night. Seen accepting the trophy from Merlin Suggitt are, Keith Van Camp, Richard Van Camp and Bill Shepard. A cheque for the full amount has been written to the Cartwright Youth Drop-in Centre. A new executive was ac- claimed. Our new presi- dent is Jim Weir, Vice President, Barb Stead, Secretary, Joyce Kelly and Treasurer, Jodie Duff. Ma- rie James and Carol Gray will be running the junior program. Ron Vice and Fred Ford will be leading the men's and Marg Fiel- den and Marilyn Green will be heading up the mixed. It was a great evening with some of the history of the club being passed along by Merlin Suggitt, Gerald Kelly and Keith Van Camp. Winners of the Suggitt trophy for the men's league was a team led by Keith Van Camp with John Coates, Merlin Suggitt and Howard Sik- ma. Winner of the mixed league was the team of Jim Weir with Bev Goslin and Leanne Goslin. We are looking forward to next year and hope that you will join us.
