Each Tuesday evening in May and June will include a whimsical look at herbs as well as learning some practical applications. Find out the lan- guage of flowers and the history of magical herbs. By partici- and invocations to bring fairies into your garden. Discover the plants fairies love and their magical significance. Also, a different study each week will allow participants to get more involved with herbs. Theme gardens, making your own sachets, herbal first aid, salt substitutes and making floral waters are just some of the highlights. After the class, students will take with them information pertaining to the workshop and, of course, their herbal creations. Penny Roberts (The Blue Whale, Columbus) and Katherine Glynn (Grovel's, Port Perry) are the series instructors and come to the museum with extensive knowl- edge. Penny, with her experi- ence in retail trade, is well versed in the cultivation and uses of herbs, while Katherine, as an importer of herbal prod- ucts, has been involved with essential oils and their benefi- cial components. The workshops will take place from 7 - 9 p.m. on Tuesdays throughout May and June at Head Memorial Church on the museum grounds. Each individual workshop if $25. Because of the necessity to purchase the supplies before the night of the class payment is required the week prior. If you enrol in seven of the work- shops, the eighth is offered at no cost. Registration and pay- ment is due by May 1. Class size is limited.
