Last week the barn on the Airport land owned by the Bayleys was taken down which had already been started by the winds in March. This build- ing was erected by the Beare brothers more than 100 years ago and was one of a few barns that the top floor was entered from the end rather than the side. Last Wednesday, May 8 the Ontario South District Annual of the Women's Institute was held in Greenbank Church. Many interesting reports were given and the special speaker Penny Reid gave a very enthu- siastic presentation on the merits of Organic Farming. The U.C.W. ladies provided a delicious lunch for 45 ladies of seven other branches and other guests. Following the luncheon a special guest, Vera Megaw of Sunderland entered us with her special talent of whistling. If there are any ladies in the community who would like to join the Women's Institute and would like more information please feel free to call our Public Relations Officer, Iva Phoenix at 985-2092, also don't forget our bake sale and family trea- sures sale on May 25 starting at 8 o'clock.
