Transportation and the Meals on Wheels program continue to be the most used services of the local association. Volunteers spent 2,803 hours and 4,229 trips transporting clients to various locations, down from last year's 4,434 trips. Meals on Wheel deliver- ies represented 3,777 trips and a total of 817 vol- unteer hours. You must register on or before Opening Day of each class you wish to enter. 2. Once you are registered you may enter as many times as you want. 3. Each entry will consist of a photo of the fish along with a completed entry form (We encourage catch and release). 4. All registrations and entry forms are available at JD Fishing and Archery. 24 Water St., Port Perry. 5. Weekly contest is from Monday morning until Sunday at closing. Winners will be determined each Monday morning and published each Tuesday in the Port Perry Star. All decisions are final. 8. $200. Cash Prizes will be determined after closing Monday, September 2nd, 1996. Prizes will be awarded on Saturday September 7th at the closing ceremonies. 7. Participants enter at their own risk. has continued to climb over the past two years as 3,638 meals were deliv- ered last year. The association relies heavily on its volunteers to help clients in the area. The help of these volun- teers enables several sen- iors to stay in their own homes, opposed to enter- ing full-care facilities. There are currently a to- tal of 129 volunteers on file with the local associa- tion, who spent 12,673 hours serving clients last year. Eighty-six new clients used the Community Care services last year while 67 no longer needed its ser- vices. There are 388 cli- ents currently on file with the association, up from last year's 371. Other services used by the clients included 479 Wheels to Meals, 149 home maintenance chores, 53 calls to prepare forms. Other services used more frequently last year were 695 foot care tasks, up from the previous 666 and 1,518 telephone reas- surance calls, up from 1,377 the year previous. Friendly visitor calls were also up to 181, compared to 137 visits the year pre- vious.
