At this invita- tional event the band received a silver Medal Standing (NOT second place), the highest award that was given in that festival. All in all it was just a wonderful weekend. Last Saturday afternoon the band played at the special event when the Port Perry Town hall 1873 was declared a Historic Building. On Saturday, May 25 the High School along with the United Church will be holding a Yard Sale at the school. Sun- day, May 26 at 1 p.m. will see the Junior Concert band play- ing at the Scugog Shores Mu- seum. Tuesday, May 28 will be an- other busy day as well. The Sen- lor Citizens Spring Festival will be held from 1:30 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. when performances by the bands and vocal groups will highlight the event. So be sure to phone the school before Mon- day, May 27 at 986-4241 for res- ervations and come for coffee, dessert and fellowship. That same evening, May 28 will be the final Music concert with the choirs and bands of both Cart- wright High School and Central Public Schools performing in the CCPS gym beginning sharp at 7:30 p.m. Donations only to both events. Congratulations to Ralph and Peggy Larmer on recently becoming grandparents again with the arrival of a baby daughter for Paul and Marga- ret Larmer of Guelph, a baby sister for Catherine. Congratu- lations to Andrea Weir on an- other grandson - a baby boy born to Russell and Kim Weir, a brother for Jamie and Greg. Its wonderful to see Kathleen Watts home again following re- cent hip replacement surgery and out attending various func- tions. Modern medicine is in- deed amazing! Good wishes for continual fine progress Kath- leen. Bill and Leslie Martin and Tyler hosted a family gathering following Jamie Lee's baptism last Sunday. Their guests were Louise and Ike Caravan of Nova Scotia, Pat and Paul McGovern of Hampton, Laura Tomlinson of Whitby, Bob and Morina Smith of Ajax, Claire and Jim Martin of Kingston, Dale and John Thomas and Richard of Enniskillen, Tracy and Garth Bell, Matthew and Andrea of Courtice, Susie and Aden Acton of Enniskillen, Paula and Rich- ard Mulligan of Courtice, Julie *Carter, Victoria Dawson, Rich- ard and Rebecca of Manvers. The singing group formerly referred to as the No Name Choir now will be called A Touch of Country. Their leader is tak- ing some time off so the choir will not be meeting again until June 19. On Mother's Day Nancy and Bob Bryans were guests of their - family for brunch at the Cad- mus Country Club. Attending were Gord and Deb Bryans, 'Cartwright band continues to receive accolades Leanna and Christina, Patt Alpe, Nathan and Emma. Steve and Lorinda Bryans and Mark of Courtice. The annual Rabbit Associa- tion meeting and show was held this weekend at the Recreation Centre. Many breeders and members from various points in Ontario attended this major event. Open House and Registration for the Blackstock co-op Nur- sery School will be held on Wednesday, May 29 at the Nur- sery School in the Blackstock Recreation Centre from 6:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. For more informa- tion call 986-4585.
