The dance is the concept of the Scugog Youth Coun- cil, formed earlier this year. | There will be two danc- es, the first for those age 10-14 and it will run from 6:30-8:45 p.m. The second dance is for those 14 and older running from 9- midnight. The event is a joint - fundraiser between the special events committee of the community centre and the youth council. The youth council will receive 75 per cent of the profits from the concession booth. Actording to Sandy McHugh, special events co-ordinator, the town- ship has been looking for a way to use the local hall on Friday evenings and teen dances are the first step in that direction. She noted there is not a lot for young people to do in the township and thats when the youth council be- came involved. The youth council was formed as a way to give lo- cal youth a voice in the township. There are cur- rently seven members, with two more to be added. Suggestions from local youth are always wel- come.
