The SEVEC (Society for Educational Visits and Exchanges in Canada) French Summer Group Exchatge will involve 43 hard-working students from os Region and their 43 "twins" Posten, Quebec. Over the past month, * the 43 Disnoe. exchange students have been ee at work fundraising through individual choco- late ol a 43-family gar- age sale and car wash, var- - ious barbecues at many of the grocery stores in Dur- ham and a work-a-thon, during which students col- lected pledges in exchange for doing volunteer work at nursing homes, day care centres and retire- ment homes in Durham Region. The Ontario stu- dents return to Durham on July 12 and their Que- bec twins follow on July 15. In Ontario, a number of linguistic, educational and cultural events are or- ganized for the exchange group. They will visit the Metro Toronto Zoo, the Ontario Science Centre, Wheelies, Niagara Falls and a Jays' game at the SkyDome.
