Peter Hvidsten Port Perry Star e town of Port Perry was « virtually taken over by police this past weekend when an estimated 60 to 70 officers from the Durham Regional Police _and OPP converged on the town to meet hundreds of bikers. Officers wearing body armour and police cruisers were visible everywhere as they patrolled the streets, and the Latcham Centre became a command post for the operation. The show of force was intend- ed as a deterrent to an estimat- ed 300 bikers attending a Satan's Choice biker bash just east of Port Perry for retiring founder Bernie Guindon. ° Police laid a number of charg- es against motorcycle riders, primarily for vehicle safety and equipment infractions.
