Port Perry is just one of the stops on its World Tour this summer. . The event is a fundraiser for the Scugog Centre Advisory Committee. The committee is trying to raise some of the out- standing'$55,000 for Scugog Community Centre. Funds raised by this event Dystrophy -Association of Canada, a cause supported the firefighters of Scugog Township. on hall players pf all ages will move into Port Perry for the weekend of August 24. 25. Basketball courts will take over Water Street from Queen Street to Highway 7A and the Palmer Park area from Friday until Sunday where some 30 courts will be set up. Teams are guaranteed a minimum-of three games in the double elimination tourna- ment. Adult teams will be com- puter-matched into divisions based on the average height, age and playing experience of Tollowsr 10 and under, 11-12, + 13-14, 15-16 and 17-18. All teams must have four players listed on their roster. Registration for the event will ey place Friday night and Saturday morning. A brief opening ceremony will take place at 8 a.m. Saturday. Games will get underway at 8:30 a.m. Saturday and run until dusk. Saturday night will feature a slam dunk con- test from 6-7 p.m. = > The a of the games will be played Sunday, followed by an awar: sentation.
