16- PORT PERRY STAR - Wednesday, August 7, 1996 What a busy weekend for Dal- ton and Kathleen Dorrell as they were celebrating their Golden Wedding Anniversary. On Saturday, Aug. 3 at Heather and Grant McLaughlin's home, the family hosted a dinner par- ty for the friends of Kathleen and Dalton in celebration of their 50th Wedding Anniver- sary. v On Sunday afternoon many, many friends and relatives from various points in Ontario called at the open house held at the United Church in their hon- or. This was followed by a bar- becue at the home of Janis Dor- rell attended by their brothers, sisters, first cousins and their families. Congratulations and best wishes from the communi- ty on this happy occasion. These folks all attended the events of the Golden Wed- ding Anniversary. Our thoughts are with Nicole Gibson who was involved in a serious boating accident on Thursday evening. Glad to re- port that Nicole is progressing favorably following extensive surgery in Sunnybrook Hospi- tal. ~" Florence Ashton Throughout this past week, donations were accept- ed at Burns Church in aid of the Quebec flood victims, and the response was over- whelming.
