Although she has been cross stitching for some 20 years, she only came up date Mrs. Higeli has | designed 10 patterns, including Oh Canada depicting a beaver, Sunflower and Moonbeams, Canadian KissMoose, The Wizard and Spring's Promise. She is currently in the process of completing her latest design entitled Silly Goose. Mrs. Higeli studied art in college and has tried her | hand at various crafts, but says nothing has kindled her heart like cross stitch. She has stitched some 250 pieces herself. After attending the Sewing and Needlework Festival in Toronto last to the internet for her su year she was encouraged by the interest the city showed § in her work. 3 3 Six months ago her husband set up a web site for her on the internet and the inquiries into her work have been astounding to Mrs. Higeli. 3 . Hoffman, a company in Alabama, picked up all of 10 her designs, including an order for 1,000 patterns of The Wizard. Hoffman will be representing her at an upcoming trade show in North Carolina, hoping to garner even more interest in her work. ' The internet is also responsible for calls from potential clients in Europe, Australia and Spain. Currently her patterns are being avail- able in stores in Toronto, Acton, Calgary, Ottawa, Illinois, Utah, North Dakota, Virginia and Connecticut. : She says the internet was the best move she ever made.
