In all, 75 teams, about one-third of them local, paid their $100 registra- tion fee to enter the tour- nament in Port, one of many Gus Macker events staged in Canada and the U.S. this summer. The sound of rap music reverberated along Port's waterfront as the games went on, and spectators gathered to watch the high energy event. Participants ranged in age from under nine to a four-man team of over 40 competitors. He added that plans for the 1997 edition of the event will be in the works when the committee starts sitting in a month' to six weeks.
