Residents will be walk- ing, running, cycling and rollerblading the routes to raise funds for cancer re- search. Last year nh to 400 people took part in the lo- cal run and raised more than $30,000 for the cause. The goal of the com- mittees across the prov- ince, including Port Perry, is to increase that by 10 percent. For those not taking part in the run the com- mittee urges them to sup- port someone who is, be- cause almost everyone has been affected by this dis- ease in some way, the com- mittee says. The route for Sunday's - run is the same as years past, beginning at the Port Perry Fairgrounds. The route exits onto Old Sim- coe Road, heads through Prince Albert to Union Av- enue and back into Port Perry. The run then heads to Water Street to the boat launch area along North Street to Simcoe Street and back to the fair- grounds. The route for the roller- bladers is slightly differ- ent to avoid the track and boat launch areas.
