Morley Raines who has known Don Heron since their younger years introduced them to the sold out crowd. _ Catherine, who was suffer- ing from viral pneumonia did herself proud as she per- formed, singing and being straight person for her hus- band "Charlie Farquharson" as they proved to make every- one in attendance laugh, tap their toes or just enjoy the evening. Next Friday, Sept. 20 there will be a corn roast, hot dogs, drinks and donuts, starting at 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. and then there will be a banjo concert in the church. The concert is free and there will be a nomi- nal charge for the food. Scugog Shores Museum The museum will be holding their Pioneer Fall Fair on Sun-g, day, Sept. 22 from 11 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. with activities for all. ages. The packed full day will feature craft vendors, demon- strations of buttermaking, quilting, spinning and weav- ing, etc, clogging by the Out- back Cloggers to fiddle music in the barn; animal display for the children; lunch special in the church; antique quilt dis- play; cow milking contest; and apple pie or butter tart con- test. Shepherd's sermon being "Amazing Grace" which was on what is the real reason for celebration of our Centennial. Roberta and Hugh Baird sang a lovely duet "Come Holy Spirit." The congregation then welcomed by transfer of membership Joanne Bonner, and her son Colin, was received by baptism. We wel- come Rick, Joanne and sons to the church and community. The community wishes a speedy recovery to Bill Walters who fell and broke his hip on Tuesday last week. Our community was shocked "and saddened to hear of the sud- den death of Herb Hatch on Tuesday of last week. He died from a massive heart attack at his summer cottage. His funer- al was Saturday morning at the Seagrave Chuch. Our sympa- thy is extended to his family. Herb will be greatly missed in our community as he has given many hours of his time towards renovations and repairs at the Church.
