"A Family Tradition for 130 Years" ---- , - PORTS Brewers, Bruins go to overtime The Brooklin' Bruins and Blackstock Brewers kicked off the day's games with the first of three close encounters. The ®Bruins\ would prevail with a 3-2 overtime win with regula- tion time showing a 1-1 score. It was midway through the opening peri- od before the Bruins Roger Rouselle scored from Wayne Tate. This held up until with just 16 seconds Tween Bs tie Ajax in meeting on Sunday The Port Perry Pharma- cy Tween Bs travelled to Ajax on Sunday to play one of two Ajax teams. Ac- tion quickly developed for these two evenly matched teams. Ajax broke on to the scoresheet first. Less than a minute later Shee- na scored an unassisted goal to tieit up. Three min- utes later Port scored a power play goal when there was a scramble in front of the Ajax goalie. Heather T. dug it out to Rhea who relayed a pass to Sheena. She made no mistake picking the cor- ner for her second. Strong goaltending by Alaina D. kept the Ajax shooters stymied. In the fi- nal minute of the first they \ scored totieitat2-2. In the second Port jumped on Ajax quickly. On the first minute the ring was in their zone when Sheena pounced on a loose ring and managed to manoeuvre into the clear and scored her third goal, a natural hat trick, way to go Sheena. Play was end to end before Ajax tied it up. Then they went ahead at the eight minute mark. Time was running out and our girls needed a goal to tie. Finally with 2:30 left Sarah broke in on the goal and laid a nice shot between the goalies legs. Final score Port 4 - Ajax 4. The Tween Bs played much better in this game than the first, stronger de- fensive play with lots of of- fensive domiination showed through. Thanks to Alaina B. for coming over from the Tween Cs to replace an injured Nicole. Keep up the hard work girls and practice, that shooting. Next game against Ajax 2. DN Broomball action showing on the clock in regulation time when Blackstock earned the tie with a goal from the broom of Ron Wagg assisted by Tom Wotten. In the three minute overtime again Brooklin pulled out in front with Shawn Mitchell firing one in unassisted. Blackstock replied to this one again as Wotten fed Ron Short only to see Tate end it in the dying seconds for the Brooklin win. The second game of the afternoon was also a close one with the Framer's Gal- lery squeaking by the Ra- vens by a 2-0 count. Eric 'ed PORT PERRY & DISTRICT MINOR SOFTBALL ASSOCIATION P.O.
