In case you didn't make it to the arena this past Satur- day, you should know that the Pineridge Sports Mid- gets have done it again. For the second year in a row, we have hosted and won the Van and Truck World: Port Perry Midget Invitational Tournament. What a show! Our first game was an early one. An 8 a.m. start vs. our good pals from Co- bourg. Cobourg displayed a lot of class, as usual. We came out on top of a 3-2 fi- nal. Goalscorers were Scott Jeffrey, Troy Camp- bell and Dan Lyons. True Snipers, folks. Derek Tin- dall picked up two assists, and Troy helped with one. Kent Johnston played sol- id in the pipes, kicking out 39 of 41 shots. This win put us on the A side of the tourney, up against Innisfil, who were coming off a 10-1 win vs. Bracebridge. We were pumped, though and came through with another full team effort to take the game 5-3. "Gaalscorers were Dave Gretzky, Dan Lyons, Derek Tindall, Col- in Laird and Troy Camp- bell. Discipline was a key part of our success all day long, but was especially evident in this contest. Way to think, fellas. The final game of the" day was upon us. The championship against Valley East," which is North of Sudbury. Figure that one out. We had worked hard all day long to make it to this game and weren't about to let up one bit.
