Scugog Island United Church Twenty youth gathered at the church on Saturday and successfully completed the St. John's Ambulance "What Every Babysitter Should Know" course. Congratulations! During worship on Sunday morning, our min- ister, Elaine Barber, explained to the children that it was the last Sunday of the Christian year and that next Sunday was the first Sunday in Advent and the beginning of the new Christian year. The Elders meet on Sunday evening and they will be delivering the Christmas letters this week. Included with the letter will be a Christmas sched- ule for your convenience. Please note the following meetings: The Lectionary Bible Study will meet on Tuesday at 1:30 p.m. The Moms and Tots will meet Wed. at 9:30 a.m. The Head U.C.W. will be holding their Christmas Dinner on Wednesday evening. Choir practice will be held on Thursday at 7 p.m. The Suppoft*Group will meet Friday at 10 a.m. The High School Supper Club will meet on Friday at 6 p.m. The Christian Education Committee will be sponsoring the "Hanging of the Greens" Party on Saturday, Nov. 30 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at S.1.U.C. Please bring pot luck finger foods for lunch or drop by for a coffee and say hello! Sunday, Dec. 1 is the first Sunday in Advent and will be the "Hanging of the Greens" service at our regular worship time of 9:45 a.m. Coffee Hour will follow the service. Sunday School children please stay for our Pageant rehearsal following service. Another evening of Square Dancing is planned for Friday, Dec. 6 at 7:30 p.m. at the Island Hall. Allrages are welcome!
