"A Family Tradition for 130 Years" =~ oS 1. Justice delayed is justice denied To the Editor: The Ontario Attorney Gener- al has stated there is a massive logjam in the court system: some 60,000 cases. The selection of juries and the draggingout of the cases by law- yers add to the delays. As we are all products of our environ- ment, juries tend to empathize with people of their own social status. Concerts: Battle of the Bands at the Polish Hall in Oshawa. Over 100 people turned out specifically. to cheer on Double Standard in their first public performance. Re- markably, despite severe mi- crophone problems affecting their vocals and forcing them to cut their play list in half, the band succeeded in plac- ing runner-up in a very tal- ented field of 12. The prize that band mem- bers: Matt Youmans, An- drew Mowatt, Brad Wilson, and Matt Brown received is a concert show in Toronto. But the band hopes to put on something a lot closer to home in the very near future. The band will also be en- tering the studio very soon, so keep on the'lookout for this up and coming band of carefree punks or for more information call 985-9866 and ask for Alex. k Alex Jansen, Port Perry Random Jottings by J. Concern for the new route centred around the expected havoc it would create with 7A traffic and also inconvenience to residents of Apple Valley, 7 where the traffic would have to be re-routed. And while there's no doubt the new route would have created an inconvenience for a few motorists, the Chamber's idea to include 7A highway so more Santa, but of Scrox areas of town could be included in the parade route was a good one. - Inconveniencing a handful of motorists for half an hour is a small price to pay for the added benefit. Heck, maybe they'd even get a chance to see our parade and decide to detour into town for a little Christmas shopping. - The Port Perry Santa Claus Parade attracts thou- sands of people to the community each year with no expense to local residents.
