There will be a special Christmas Card Party at the Town Hall on Tuesday evening with many special prizes. It begins at 8 p.m. sharp. We certainly miss the card party results since Jim Emerton has moved to Port Perry. The Curling Club is plan- ning a Snowflake Bonspiel which will be held on Monday, Dec. 30 throughout the day. The team may be all men, all women or family combinations. It is necessary to sign up by Tuesday if you are interested either as an individual or as a team as the ice is required by others if there is not sufficient interest in the bonspiel. Call either Jan Van Camp, Jodie Duff or Joyce Kelly. Pop in at the arena to sign up but it must be done by 10:30 p.m. Tuesday evening. Many from this area enjoyed the show "Nunsense" produced by the Choral Society at Port Perry Town Hall these past three weekends. Congratulations on a great production. Larry Hoskin of Lake Louise, Alberta has been visit- ing his mother Mrs. Muriel Hoskin and other relatives and friends for a few days. On Sunday evening Joan and Harvey Graham hosted a fam- ily dinner when Muriel Hoskin, Pat Fletcher and Ron and Sandra Hoskin and their fami- lies with their friends attended. A bridal shower with a Christmas theme was hosted by Gwenyth Thompson with Dorothy Venning as co-hostess in honor of Laura Gilbank. This Sunday, Dec. 15 the 3rd Sunday of Advent will be cele- brated in Epsom Church start- ing at 11 a.m. The Candle of Joy will be lit and it will also be a celebration of Communion. Also on Sunday, Dec. 15 the Children's Christmas Concert will be held at 7 p.m. in Epsom Church. Catch the magic of Christmas through the eyes of youth. Bethesda-Reach Women's In- stitute Christmas pot luck sup- per will be held on Saturday, Dec. 14 at 6:30 p.m. at the home Judy's customers gathered at Gwenyth's home in Port Perry on Saturday morning to enjoy time together with games, food, fellowship and many gifts for the bride-to-be. Laura thanked everyone for their gifts and best wishes. Congratulations to Tom and Tammy Purchase who were recently married in Markham. Tom and Tammy have just moved into the home vacated by Tara and Terry Taylor and Bailey. Welcome to our com- munity. Many Christmas events are coming up. On Wednesday evening The Touch of Country Singers are hosting a Christmas concert with guest artists, music from the public and high schools and the Lindsay Kawartha Male Chorus in addition to numbers by their own group. This special event will be held at the Blackstock Rec. Centre on Wednesday, Dec. 11. On Sunday evening all the local church choirs will gather at the United Church at 7:30 p.m. for the annual Carol Service. This is always an evening filled with the tradi- tional as well as new Christmas music. Try not to miss it. You need not be a church member to enjoy it. On Saturday, Nov. 30 stu- dents and teachers from Cartwright High School's class of 1986 gathered for a 10 year reunion. Tara Bailey-Taylor was M.C. for the evening which was held at the Emerald Mare Restaurant on Shirley Road. Everyone enjoyed the dinner, dancing and the opportunity to reminisce. Let this be your invitation or a reminder to attend the 120th anniversary of the Epsom School on Tuesday, Dec. 17 from 2 until 4 p.m. for a Christmas Tea. Call the high school to make reservation. Several from here enjoyed "the 19th annual Christmas Carol Service at the Scugog Shores Museum Church on Sunday evening. It concluded with everyone singing Silent Night accompanied by Irwin Smith playing the old pump organ which originally was in Tyrone Church. On Dec. 1a birthday party was held for Bailey Taylor who turned two on Dec. 6. It was a fun-filled afternoon in Seagrave 'with lots of cake and ice cream.
