"A-Family Tradition for 130 Years" Techstar boys settle for silver They face tough Ops team in tournament play | On Saturday, Dec. 14 the Techstar Bantams travelled to Havelock for a one day tournament. Our first opponient was Brace- bridge. First period action had Port buzzing over Bracebridge. After Chris Loughlin made a nice glove save Kam Cooper sent Steve Wygerde on a breakaway to give Port a one goal lead. In the second period Bracebridge got their first goal to tie the game at one. Port kept working hard and it paid off as Joel Van Camp was left alone in the slot and made it 2-1 Port. Assists went to Jon Sand- ers and Scott Cunning- ham with Port a man short. Chris. Loughlin made another nice glove save on a slapshot from the point. This puts us in the A final against Ops. After a one hour break we were right back on the ice. We found ourselves against a very fast skating Ops team. Thirty-eight seconds in to the first peri- od Port takes a penalty. Ops wasn't long going to the power play and opened up a one goal lead. Then one minute later scores again. But Port didn't give up scoring two 'goals of their own. First . goal was Kam Cooper with Offer for Savings.
