Mother Na- ture, however, did not cooperate and the race was cancelled because of high winds, and all entry fees were returned. Cold weather in Novem- ber 1995 had the Kins- men's hopes high for their race in the cold months of 1996 but rain fell, forcing the cancellation of the event. Sensing that it was time for a change, the club came to an agreement with Trillium Trails to hold the races there. » Predicting that this will be the best year yet for the event, Mr. Goldberg says that the uniqueness will also help in attracting a large crowd. "This will be an inexpen- sive family getaway that they'll remember, that's for sure. "We're going to have various types of food from schnitzel to ice cream. Be- sides the dog sleds there will also be a luge run and a skating pond. The great part is that everyone can participate in everything."
