"A Family Tradition for 131 Years" PORT PERRY STAR - Tuesday, August 12, 4997 - 17 i Kelly-Miller Circus arrives in Port Perry this Friday Imagine working for the circus. Exciting right? Now imagine working for the Circus but never getting to see it. Not so exciting? Wrong. Roger Alton thinks its great. As the 'Ad- vance Man' from Kelly-Miller Circus, which will be preforming at the Port Perry fair- ground on August 15, he loves his job. "I get to go around to all the towns we play all about" he told the Star last Thursday. "We're letting people know that the 'Eu- rupean Style' tent we have (with ane large ring rather than the north American, three) eyeryone can get a better look at the acts. The tent we have was made to our order by Scolla-Tellalni of Italy. They have been building tents for over two thousand years. They were tent makers to the Caesers." we love it here. The people of Ontario are very family orientated and so are we. "We work 8 months of the year and have only 5 days with no performances or set-up." He said the Circus is glad to be back in Port Perry. "We haven't been here in 4 years but the new facility is fantastic (the fairgrounds) and the chamber of commerce has done a so it'll be a great show." With that said Mr. Alton climbs back into his camper and trailer to move on to the next town to let the kids know " the Circus is com- ing to town". The Kelly-Miller Circus will put on two shows.. 4:30 and 7:30 PM on August 15 and tickets may be purchased at the Port Perry Star office, the Nutty Chocolatier or Ricks and inform the people of what our Circus is Barber and Stylists.
