McClelland Port Perry Star A four year old boy was fortunate to escape serious injury after he was bitten near his left eye by a dog while at a fastball tournament Saturday evening at the Seagrave Park. Trevor Douma of Oshawa needed 23 stitches to close a nasty wound on the left side of his face between his eye and nose. The boy's father Gerry, who was playing in the tournament at the time told the Star later the incident has left he and his wife Melanie badly shaken, but they are very grateful Trevor did not suffer more serious injury. (See story on page 11) olice arrest three for murder By Rik Davie Port Perry Star The murder of a Scarborough man, in what is being termed as a possible drug related crime, has resulted in arrest of three men and prompted an intense investigation of a farmhouse, located on Waite Rd. just east of the Scugog/Manvers townline last week. A joint OPP, Metro Toronto police investigation has resulted in the arrest of Michael Gray 34, of 5th Concession'Manvers Township, Mr. Gray was charged with first degree murder, in the shooting death of Everton Williams, 26, of | | § i Mr. Williams' body was discovered in a rented van parked at 1220 Markham Rd. in Scarborough on July 17. A coroners report stated Mr. Williams had died of a single gunshot to the chest. Also charged are Rodney Binns, 29, of Hamilton, and James Robert Doiron, 31, of Hamilton. + Mr. Binns turned himself in to Lindsay OPP shortly before 4 p.m. on Aug. 5 and was subsequently charged with second degree murder. Mr. Doiron, accompanied by his attorney, came into the Lindsay. OPP attachment on Friday afternoon and was later charged with first degree murder. He was remanded into custo- dy until his next court appearance. Information received by police led to the investigation of Mr. Gray's Waite Rd home. The residence was cordoned off Monday, Aug. 4 by police and was the subject of an intensive police investigation by a 30 man joint task force. On Friday, crime scene unit officers completed a third and possibly final sweep of the home and surrounding area in the search for evidence.
