Police say the owner of a 1997 Chevrolet Lumina was southbound on Simcoe St., near VanEdward Dr. in Port Perry, around 2:50 p.m Dec. 15 when a motorist in a northbound vehicle threw a bottle out of his vehicle. They pried up the steel front of the machine, say police, and then used a blowtorch in an attempt to cut the front off. No damage estimate is available, police report. Mailbox arson Durham Regional Police are investigating an arson case that occurred at a Bigelow St. apartment com- "Bin ad plex around 5 p.m. on Dec. 16. Police say the superin- tendent of the complex dis- covered the fire burning in a mailbox. Mail in the box was destroyed and the slot was damaged, say police. Damage is estimated at $200. Single vehicle crash Durham Regional Police were called to Scugog Island shortly before midnight Sunday (Dec. 21) evening when a motorist lost control tarlite Family Ui 1866 Scugog St., Port Perry of his vehicle. Police say a 17-year-old Davidge Dr. resident had. travelled less than one kilo- metre down Gerrow Rd. when he lost control of his 1984 Camaro and rolled it twice.
