A Bountiful Christmas At Blackcreek Pioneer Village Here, in 1892, it is three days until Saint Nick comes down the chimney. I wonder if he will survive the blazing fire in the fire place on Christmas Eve. I have secretly written a little letter on my slate that came home for homework it says: Dear Saint Nick: (If you survived the fire), you may eat the cookies on the tree but cut the ribbons off first. Have a nice feast. See the bucket? Well go to the barn and milk a cow. From Tim. Mother will have a shock tomorrow! What a day we had on Christmas! There were fruit cakes, plum puddings, geese, mincemeat, stuffing, home made candy, taffy, roast beef, carrots, peas, potatoes and gravy. Two hours A Pioneer Christmas later my tummy was as big as a small barrel. I got a horn for Christmas. I got out my wagon, toy soldiers and I went on a parade. By Markus Piil, S.A. Cawker, Gr. 3 A Pioneer Christmas At Black Lake Village we were buying gifts for our moms and dads, for aunts and uncles. Our family was piling into the old sleigh to get our family's Christmas tree, just right for our house. We hitched up the tree and left. When we got home we made pop corn and cranber- ry strings and colored balls of wool! Once we hung our deco- rations on the tree, we went over to Mr. and Mrs. Twins for Christmas Eve. When we went home all of us went to sleep. Next morning we went down stairs for Christmas! We started looking for our gifts! Look Mom and Dad I got a sled from Saint Nick! I got a new bow tie. Jim got an army of soldiers! Later that day for Christmas dinner we had a plump goose, gravy, potatoes and stuffing.
