Cedar Creek Contracting Clippers 3 Compton Cable TV Comets 1 This was a very aggres- sively played game as both teams played well but in the end it was the Clippers who handed the Comets the 3-1 defeat. « The Clippers opened the scoring with a power play goal as John Robertson picked the rebound in front of the net after some nice passing by the Clippers. The Comets did answer back and tie this game after Darcy Milligan took advan- tage of a Clippers turnover and put a low wrist shot in the bottom corner. Mike Clarke had the assists on this goal. The Clippers would take over from there with two more goals. Derek Fitzgerald gave the Clippers the lead as his high snapshot found the back of the net after he took a pass from John Harman. Then Richie LeFort put the game out of reach for the Comets as he elected to shoot on a two on one and his wrist shot found the top corner of the net after taking a pass from John Harman. The Clippers shut down the Comets from there as they picked up the 3-1 vic- tory. The game did not remain tied for long as the Wolves came right back and regained their lead when Bill Bridge found the net with the assist going to Phil Lalonde. Two minutes later the Flames would once again tie this game with an unas- sisted goal courtesy of Rick Sheehey who completed ACCOLY 54 00 his hat trick. The Flames then took the lead when Brian Pomeroy scored off of a rebound in front of the net with assists going to Larry Pilkey and Todd Wilbur. With two minutes left in the final period the Wolves would find the net when Paul Stanley collected his second goal of the game as he put in a low shot to tie this game after receiving passes from Jamie Menzies and Bill Bridge to close out the scoring in this well played game. Late in the second period the Chargers put another goal on the board and it was provided by Steve Connors with assists going to Rob Scott and Dean Smith. In the third period the Chargers put this game out of reach for the Roosters with a breakaway goal from Rob Scott who put a snap- shot in the top corner after being set up by Mike McQuade and Chargers goalie Don Card to close out the scoring in this game.
