All are welcome to join these sessions. This week they will be looking at the gospel of Mark. This Saturday is St. Valentine's Day and there will be a pot luck supper in Utica Hall starting at 7 p.m. following by dancing from 8 p.m. to mid- night. This is an alcohol and smoke-free event. The family flew to P.E.I. to attend the funeral earlier this week. A beautiful wedding was held in Epsom Church on Saturday when Troy Jackson and Jeannine Harvey were united in marriage. Troy is the grandson of Luella Bailey and the son of Pat Bailey, formerly of Epsom. Happy fourth birthday to my little friend Lucas Warner, whose big day is this Thursday. Archie and Jennie Watson have arrived home safely from their bus trip to Florida, spend- ing a month at Panama City Beach, and enjoying the lovely weather. And I got a call last Monday about the sighting of a couple of Robins in the Epsom-Bethesda area. Darlene Christie was visit- ing with former neighbor Evelyng| Hansen and they both witnessed the sighting. Fairley con- ducted the regular 11 a.m. service in Nestleton Presbyterian Church. Joyce Taylor was organ- ist and ushers were Harvey Mills and Graham Ham. The Sunday School was taught by Shirley Mills. The service of Baptism was observed when the children of Margaret Jones (Scott) - daughter of Shirley Scott and the late George Scott were presented Samuel David William and Kathleen Elizabeth Rae. They were attended by their aunt Alison Scott and other Ballyduff friends, and Shirley Scott, Fenelon Falls. Responsive Psalm was #108 and scripture read- ings were from Isaiah 6; and St. Luke 5. In the talk to the children Rev. Fairley spoke of how we shouldn't be afraid to be different from others - but to always be kind. The annual church meeting will be Feb. 22 following lunch and reg- ular church service. The Yellowlees house- hold was busy Saturday as Jennifer had her school friends for an early birthday party. Then Sunday there was another party for rela- tives and Jennifer shared the day with Grandpa Warner who celebrated his birthday. In the sermon Rev. Fairley referred to the day of Jesus teaching the crowd from the fishing boat and the miracle of the nets full of fish, after nothing all night. Don't put your faith in material things. A tunch was served in the Sunday School Room with a special cake for Samuel and Kathleen and Baptism Day gifts presented to them by Shirley Mills, Sunday for another season of ball. Registration dates are Saturday, Feb. 14 from 8 a.m. to noon and Saturday, Feb. 25 from 4:30 to 7:30 p.m. All registration dates will take place at the Blackstock Arena. This year various levels of softball, youth lob ball, and hard ball will be avail- able for youths aged four to 19. For youths ages four (as of May 1) to 15, softball play will be available. Youths ages 15 to 19 are eligible to play in the youth nine to 18. We are also proud that there is a registration rate freeze at the 1997 level and a creation of a new division based on numbers. Registration fees are $50 for softball and youth lob ball; hard ball registration is $75, family three or more - $130. All players will be outfitted with a team shirt and hat. Those playing hardball will be outfitted with team pants and socks in addition to a team shirt and hat. Trying to come up with a valentine treat for your sweetie? A good murder is always nice. On Sunday Feb. 15 at 6:30 p.m. the church will host a mystery dinner theatre called éAnthony & Cleopatrai at the Nestleton Community Hall. Performed by Klewes Productions the evening will include a great meal, homemade deserts and a murder to solve. Tickets for the event should be reserved before Wed.
