The entire two act play Is set on the seventh story ledge of an apartment building. To achieve the required look, director Ruth Smith worked with Colleen Baskin and Neil Holden to design a set that will have the actors stand- ing eight feet above the floor of the Music Hall for the entire performance. "This set is a significant stile Cimber Chior presents ST. "Once we were confi- dent we could provide a safe environment for the actors we worked to create a surrealistic atmosphere that provides a represen- tation of a building float- ing in space." The play, written by Canadian Governor- General's Award winning playwright Morris Panych, "presents the audience with a gentle and playful approach to the philosophical questions about the meaning of life," added Ms Smith. "A man contemplating suicide on the seventh floor ledge of an apartment building confronts the stories of some extraordi- nary people who live in the building, and through these 'seven stories' dis- covers an amazing truth about himself." Audiences will find the play humorous, uplifting and thought-provoking, and are almost certain to recognize themselves and their friends in many of the driven and quirky characters. Funds raised from the production will be used to support a performing arts scholarship. For each of the past three years, the Uxbridge Players have awarded a $500 scholar- ship to a graduating stu- dent from Uxbridge in Whitby. The next meeting of Macintosh Users East (MaUsE) will be held on Wednesday, March 25 from 7:30 to 9:30 p.m. in the lecture theatre at Henry St. High School All MaUsE members and the general public are invited.
