COMMISIONER OF WORKS st The boys are now on their way to the champi- onship game. Game five was against a Martingrove team. After every inning the score was tied, thanks to a great defensive effort by our boys in green, and top notch pitching by John Wotten and Jeff Talmey. Top of the seventh inning was where Scugog's Peewee Selects took con- trol. Starting off with Chet Martin hitting a triple, Ryan Petch a triple, John Wotten a double and Chris Booth a single to bring the score 8-5 going into the bot- tom of the seventh. With a three point lead going into the bottom of the seventh, coach Petch gave the nod for Chris Booth for pitcher. Chris struck out two batters and pop flyed the third batter for a great catch by Chet Martin to end the game. The boys were each pre- sented with a trophy and the coach received the tour- nament trophy which is now on display at the Antrim House in Port Perry. The boys presented the trophy to Dave Hillier on Sunday night when they returned from the tourna- ment. Scugog's own Peewee Selects are on a winning streak. So far this year in regular season play, the boys have won nine out of 10 games. With only two more regular season games left, the boys are well on their way for top spot for the playoffs. $5,300 raised for golf tourney for Central 7 Sixty-two golfers enjoyed the sunny Uxbridge skies on Saturday, July 18 and raised more than $5,300 for Central Seven.
