"A Family Tradition for 132 Years" PORT PERRY STAR - Tuesday, August 11, 1998 - 5 Applicants sought for regional waste management panel ~The Region of Durham Is currently seeking appli- cants for its Long Term Waste Management Public Advisory Committee (PAC). The PAC will be comprised of volunteer members of the public who are inter- ested in finding a 20 year solution to managing waste. In addition to providing input into the decision mak- ing process, members will assist in educating the pub- lic about the purpose of the plan, the alternatives under construction, and the waste technologies available today. It is currently proposed that the PAC will be com- prised of 15 to 20 members who will meet a number of times over the next 12 months. It is envisioned Just say aloha Oshawa One Parent Families Association will be presenting a Hawaiian Social on Saturday, Aug. 15. The event will take place at Woodview Community Centre, 151 Cadillac Ave. N., Oshawa. that participants will rep- resent a cross section of the region, including special interest groups. Members will play a role in develop- ing the plan, and in facili- tating open and accurate communication during the process. Interested persons should submit their name, address, telephone number, and a brief one page description outlining "why they want to be a member of the PAC, and how they can contribute to the suc- cessful development of the Region's Waste Management Strategy Plan."
