Don't forget to get out and sup- port your hall. Blackstock Lions Club We had a very busy Saturday night last week attending to the bars at the wedding receptions at Nestleton and Blackstock Rec. Centre Halls. The happy brides being Jennifer Arbuckle and Michelle Malcolm. We wish our new brides and grooms much happiness in the years that lie ahead. We have had good guest speakers to our dinner meetings twice a month. Police report that sometime overnight between Sept. 22-23 thieves stole a Mach One BMX-style bike from a Hurd St. address. The bike, valued at $230, has a chrome frame, trick steering and rear pegs. A couple of nights later, sometime overnight between Sept. 24 and 25, police say that thieves took three bikes from a King St. home. Missing is a 21" 10- speed mountain bike with maple leaf decals worth $150; a 19" purple five-speed "Rock Rat" mountain bike valued at $200; and a lime green 127 bike with training wheels worth $100. Scugog Historical Society We met last Thursday night at St. John's Presbyterian Church and saw slides and heard a lecture that only Paul Arculus could give. This was dealing with the early merchants of Port Perry. The great depression of 1875 and the building of stores thereafter.
