Thanksgiving Sunday Service was celebrated on Sunday morning with flowers, vegetables and fruit decora- tions in the sanctuary. During the children's time Rev. Carson told them that God's love is overflowing. He had them watch as he popped some corn. When heated, it overflowed into a bowl. God has an abundance of resources, love and help. Lawrence Nicholls read the scripture from Luke 17, versus 11 to 19. Rev. Carson's sermon was "Thanks - Living." Be mind- ful of those who are less fortu- nate than ourselves. The choir sang an anthem. A social hour followed the service. There will be no church service or Sunday School at Seagrave this Sunday, Oct. 18 when Pinedale is cel- ebrating their Sunday School Anniversary at 11 a.m. The service will include the performing puppets. Greenbank News...by Doris'Hill 'WI planning a visit to Wind Reach Farm Congratulations to June and Jim Bayley who celebrated their 50th wed- ding anniversary on Oct. 8. Family and friends came from England and Brazil to celebrate with them. They held their dinner at Woodlawn Inn in Cobourg. A surprise birthday party was held by the fam- ily for Marie Cookman on Saturday. Our prayers go out for Doug Foster who had surgery recently in Kingston Hospital. We hope that he will be better soon. There will not be a church service at Greenbank next Sunday, Oct. 18 as it is Pinedale Sunday School Anniversary. It will be a child friendly service with the puppets performing. Plan to attend. There will be -a Greenbank Sunday School teachers meeting at the church on Oct. 19. Mrs. Dorothy Linton 'from Hamilton and Cathie Cookman and friend Carmie Bourner of St. Catharines spent the Thanksgiving Weekend with Marie and Ross Cookman. . A good time was had at the hall on Friday evening for the euchre. Ladies prizes were won by Marion Hempen, Lorraine Geer and June Bayley. Gents winners were Harry Hill, Don Geer and Mel Norrish. Lucky draws were won by June Bayley, Marion Hempen and Gord Smith. Next euchre will be Friday, Nov. 6.
