Between 10:30 and 11 a.m. on Oct. 14 two phone calls were placed to a Major St. residence but were not answered by the homeowner. Approximately 20 min- utes later, a male and a female -- both appearing to be around 16 -- knocked on the door. Not making it to the door in time, the homeowner went back into her home and noticed the pair at the back door. The boy had his hand on the doorknob and appeared to be attempting to open the door, say police. Upon seeing the woman, the pair fled and were pur- sued on a bicycle by the homeowner, who was in her housecoat. She con- fronted the couple at Poplar Park where they first denied any knowledge of the events and then gave a poor excuse, police say. They then fled the park by jumping over a fence. After notifying the police, the woman picked the boy out a photo line-up provided by Durham Regional Police. As a result, a 14-year- old Raglan boy has been charged with one count of attempted break and enter. The search is continuing for the female suspect. ary olidays Plan Your Christmas Party Balleen Decorating Helium Tanks Balloort heuquets Dish / Litien Roentals Tables & Chairs Paper Products Boal Wer AnisynesParyy ITH FS RESTAURANT ¢BARL RB * Bring your family or group * Special menus available * Reserve early -ext. 219 e Gift certificates available Must be 19 Years of age or older GREAT BLUE HERON CHARITABLE CASINO & BINGO Licence # C000004 u Island Rd., Port Perry 905-985-4888 ~ 1-888-29-HERON ) _ Baagwating Community Association
