The meeting takes place from 7:30 to 9 p.m. at the Scugog Community Centre, 1655 Reach Road, Port Perry. The guest speaker will be Constable Pat Judges of the Durham Regional Police Department. Constable Judges has been specially trained in methods of preventing crime through the envi- ronmental design of busi- ness and residential premises. His presentation will include slides of local Port Perry businesses identifying aspects of good design and poor design relative to crime prevention. The presen- tation will be followed by a question period on all issues related to crime prevention. The strong attendance by both business people and media at the recent Chamber breakfast meet- ing on crime proofing your business demon- strated the high level of interest in ways to pre- vent crime amongst resi- dents, merchants and business people in Scugog Township. The evening seminar allows the time to provide a more detailed overview and analysis of the topic and to allow for specific questions and situations to be addressed. Everyone is welcome.
