Proposals will be received at the Office of Superintendent Turner, Administration, Durham Regional Police Service, 77 Centre Street North, Oshawa, up to 1200 hours, Monday, February 15, 1999. Annual meeting is Friday, Jan. 9 Hemp production on agenda at soil, crop AGM Local farmers are invited to the Durham East Soil and Crop Annual Meeting. Hemp production for fibre products and it's many other uses will be discussed by Mike Columbus, Alternative Crops Specialist with the Ontario Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs. Mike will also be presenting information on other alternative crop possibilities for Ontario farmers. Other topics of interest will include corn plot results, air planter applications, oil information and Nutrient Management. This year's annual meeting is being held in Solina at the Community Hall on Friday, Jan 8 with registration beginning at 9:30 a.m. The annual membership fee of $20 covers the events of the day, including a noon lunch, as well as newsletters throughout the year highlighting other interesting and educational opportunities for members.
