Ken Hudson He said that "numerous" complaints about sleds being run through the streets of town have come in since the snow arrived, and the snowmobile season began in earnest here. "We are going to have some enforce- ment during the peak hours of 1 to 7 o'clock in the morning, when (snowmo- biles) are restricted," e said last week. When those who had taken part in assembling the bid for the 2000 games learned last Wednesday that Durham's bid was successful, none was more excited than Brenda Robinson, Scugog's representative on the committee. She was part of a committee of representatives from the recreation departments of all eight municipal- ities that comprise Durham Region. They worked for a year on the Durham bid, and have been endur- ing the suspense of awaiting a deci- sion since their submission this fall. "We kind of sat on pins and nee- dles through the whole month of December. They told us there would be an announcement by December," said Mrs. Robinson last Thursday.
