20- PORT PERRY STAR - Tuesday, January 26, 1999 "Scugog's Community Newspaper of Choice" SPORTS Wins sweet revenge for Ice veterans from 1998 squad From Page 19 Winger was called for hacking at Keith Blohm. But instead of skating directly to the bench, Blohm took a couple of swipes at the Georgina player with his gloves and he wound up with a pair of penalties, leaving the MoJacks short-hand- ed for two minutes. And they scored to penalty to Blohm was ending. It was that kind of game and that kind of season -- more often than not, the MoJacks found a way to beat themselves. The two wins "by Georgina assures the Ice of a post-season appear- ance and for those play- ers who were on last year's squad it must have been somewhat satisfy- so soundly over the week- end. It was the MoJacks who knocked the Ice from post- season play last year with a pair of wins on the last weekend of the regular schedule. Exchanging goals once again, the score was tied at three as Dave Mann scored for Compton from Jeff Kroonenburg and Todd Wilbur before Rick Penstone responded for Ball/Callery with help from Paul Stanley and Bob Tarbotton. Scott Wilbur answered right back for Compton as he provided them with a short lived 4-3 lead after being nicely set up by Ron Compton, but Paul Stanley took over from there as he found the back of the cage twice and the 5-4 lead belonged to Ball/Callery. Steve Connors assisted on both goals, while, Ron Zaparanuik and Terry Flieler picked up one assist each.
