He put the keys to the vehicle on the floor by the seat, and went inside to grab his clothes and helmet. Upon returning outside about 10 minutes later the man found his van, trailer, and sled had been stolen, police say. The van and trailer were later located on Regional Rd. 13, just west of Hwy. 12. Oshawa man first fatality on Lake Scugog this year By Chris Hall Port Perry Star A Bowmanville man is recovering in the Oshawa hospital after he was involved in a snowmobile accident that claimed the life of another rider ' on Lake Scugog Saturday. : Adam Bothwell, 24, of Bowmanville, was hit at high speed Saturday (Jan. 30) afternoon by Brian Breen more than 500 metres off shore from the local boat launch. Mr. Breen, a 27-year-old Oshawa man, was pronounced dead at the scene. Durham Police report that at approximately 3 p.m., Mr. Breen was heading north on "his 1998 Yamaha snowmobile when it came into colli- sion with a 1998 Skidoo being operat- ed by Mr. Bothwell. He was travelling westward, back to shore. Both machines were travelling quite quickly, says Insp. Chuck Mercier, the top officer in North Durham. "They were both going at a high rate of speed," he said yesterday morning. "They T-boned; both front ends show the point of impact."
