Durham Regional drug can cause seizures Police are urging the pub- lic to be aware that a large quantity of lethal drugs were stolen last week, and could surface anywhere. Sometime between 7 p.m. on Feb. 3 and 7:45 a.m. on Feb. 4, thieves broke into the Taunton Road Animal Hospital in Oshawa. Taken from the animal hospital was a large quan- tity of potentially lethal drugs, including the fol- lowing: 0 Euthanyl, an extremely dangerous bar- biturate used to euthanize animals. Approximately 240 ml of this drug was . stolen; just 5 ml can cause death; 0 Ketamine, an anes- thetic used in the treat- ment of cats and is sold on the street as "Special K". The hallucinogenic and respiratory depres- sion; a Rapinovet, an anes- thetic agent used in ani- mals and humans. This drugs stops breathing; a Atropine, which caus- es respiratory depression and seizures; a Anectine, which caus- es paralysis; a Demerol, a pain killer; 0 many other barbitu- rates, animal steroids, and animal treatment drugs were stolen. Durham Police are ask- ing for the public's assis- tance in this incident. The stolen drugs can kill or seriously harm anyone who takes them.
