A fun auction was held to raise money for the club. Congratulations to Scott and Beth Wilson on receiving the "highest milk production" award for a five year old cow. Arnold and Gail Kerry and Keith and Faye Ashton enjoyed the past weekend in Ottawa on a bus tour with the Antique Automobile Club Assoc. While there they visited several museums which were of great interest. Former Federal judge Walter Boroska was a guest speaker at the recent Bethesda-Reach W.I. meeting. Judge Boroska described the citizenship process, how immigrants make contributions to soci- ety and the benefits of being born in - what the U.N. calls - "the world's best country." A moving moment was when members and guests repeated the Canadian Citizenship oath. Sunderland festival funds are going to good causes The Sunderland Maple Syrup Festival (March 27) is a commu- nity event geared to raise money for worthy causes. In the past, the pro- ceeds have been donat- ed to the Sunderland Town Hall Restoration Committee and the res- cue vehicle fund for the Brock Fire Dept. In 1999 the profits will be contributed to the Sunderland Medical Centre expan- sion plan and other community betterment projects.
