Since 1846, the funeral home has served area families from their downtown location. Conveniently located at 216 Queen Street (at Perry Street) with paved parking for 300 cars within a block of the funeral home, it is most likely the township's longest serving local business. "The people we serve are our top priority. We are devoted to providing the best quality of care and facilities to our families", owner/manager Myles O'Riordan says. A major expansion project that started over a year ago is now complete. The new addition and extensive renovations, include a new and larger chapel and family room, visitation rooms, main floor lounge with facilities for after-funeral receptions and private arrangement offices. All of these rooms were professionally decorated. Since 1990 when Myles purchased the funeral home and moved to Port Perry, he has supported the town merchants. When he was contemplating the major renovations he used local trades, wherever possible. "I believe it's important to buy locally", he says.
