"A Family Tradition for 132 Years" PORT PERRY STAR - Tuesday, March 16, 1999 - 11 Annual event set for April 4 Easter Bunny's egg hunt The Easter Bunny and all his friends will be hopping down Queen St. once again this year. The annual Port Perry Easter Egg Hunt is scheduled to begin at noon on April 4, and children are invited to get in on the free fun, says orga- nizer Ken Koury. - "It's a lot of fun and kids from anywhere can come and enjoy it," he said, noting the only restrictions are that the children must be between the ages of three and seven. No registration is required, and . there is no cost to participate. "We want as many kids as we can get to come down and look for coloured eggs with their age on it; when they find one, they can turn it in for a sidewalks from Water St. to Perry St. The street will be closed to traffic for three hours, he added. Kids have fun running from a starting line to find a rock with their age on it. "It doesn't matter what the weather is like; the kids can still come and get candy no matter what it is like," said Mr. Koury, adding that special prizes will be given away to those finding "special" eggs in their candy stash. The annual event has been a great attraction over the last decade, and Mr. Koury says he expects the 11th year to be no different. "It always works out well; I | think it is a great thing for the kids and for the community. Everyone gets together and has fun with the Easter Bunny," he said, adding that about 300 kids come out each year. "This is a good time; bag of candy and treats," said the owner of The Nutty Chocolatier. As usual, little rocks will be located along Queen St. and on THE GIFT OF LIFE: The Masonic Hall in Port Perry, locat- ed on Queen St. just west of Town Hall 1873, was bustling with activity last Wednesday (March 10) when it played host to the Red Cross' blood donor clinic.
