Chief Richard Miller reported yes- terday afternoon that three trucks were initially sent to a Scugog Line 12 address during the mid-morning after a manure pile spontaneously caught fire. Just as the pile was being extin- guished a grass fire was called in on the same road and before Uxbridge firefighters could attend, a truck and a few men were sent from the Port Perry crew to battle the blaze. Later, at approximately 1:05 p.m.,, the grass fire -- which Chief Miller sus- pects was lit by a spark from a maple syrup shack -- was rekindled and fire- fighters returned to the site just as they finished with the manure pile. 24 hr. paging Qn, a MARKSMTH™ ~~ TISH SUTCLIFFE ot.
