Come out and have a nice social evening. Mrs. Margaret Couperthwaite and Robert and Mr. and Mrs. Bienia attended the wedding dance on Saturday at Sunderland for the former Millie Cyr and Roy Perry. Muriel Wagner of Sundridge and Cathy Raddatz of Lindsay vis- ited recently with Eunice and Ray Rahm. Several from Greenbank attended the community thrashing event at the farm of Ted and Wilma Smith on Wednesday evening and enjoyed the good music and food. Many from Greenbank enjoyed the circus in Port Perry on Sunday. It was a spec- tacular show. Thanks to the Scugog Chamber of Commerce for sponsoring this entertainment. On Saturday, Aug. 7 a group of community vol- unteers helped to put up 150 feet of wire mesh fence at the park. Molson Breweries had donated $2,000 to help pay for materials to improve the park through a program called Local Heroes. Molson's Breweries pro- vided the money for all of the materials and our local helpers provided the labour. Thanks to Lydia Doble, Barb Ward and Lila Clarkson for provid- ing lunches for our events. The last stage of this project involves moving the final section of the old fence back to line up with the new fence. These projects are always a success because of the generous donation of time and energy by the members of the Greenbank Park and Hall Board and the help and support of the community. Don't forget the com- munity baseball slow pitch tournament will be held on the weekend of Sept. 18 this year. If you plan to cele- brate the New Year's Eve Dance in Greenbank this year phone 985- 3723 as only 100 tickets will be sold. The cost is only $35 a couple.
