Officers were dispatched to a John St. residence on Aug. 13 after thieves entered an unlocked black 1986 Pontiac Firebird sometime between midnight on Aug. 12 and 8:30 a.m. on Aug. 13. Taken during the entry was an Alpine cassette deck, Alpine CD changer, and a quantity of CDs, say police, estimating the stolen goods have a value of $750. A Blackstock man was visiting friends in the area when the theft occurred, police say. Golfing vandals Durham Regional Police believe a local lacrosse team may be responsible for the damage done to Sunbrae Golf Course at Prince Albert. Police say that sometime during Aug. 14 while the Brooklin Lacrosse team was holding a tournament all 18 pins were taken from the course and the word "WOODS" was etched into the seventh green in large letters.
